Join Creative Curiosity for Tiny Shrines, a mixed-media assemblage workshop devoted to celebrating the people, places, memories, objects, and little things that mean something to us.
We'll begin with an unfinished wooden box and transform it using paint, collage, imagery, texture, and found objects. Working across the inside and outside of the box, you'll build your shrine in layer, creative a tiny world around something meaningful, beloved, strange, remembered, or entirely imagined.
Your shrine can be thoughtful, nostalgic, funny, sentimental, wonderfully weird, or somewhere in between. Bring a small photo, piece of ephemera, or tiny object you'd like to incorporate, or build your shrine entirely from the materials available during the workshop.
Using acrylic paint on canvas, we'll build an atmospheric garden scene in layers, exploring foliage, flowers, color, texture, and simple ghostly forms. A shared composition will give us a place to begin, then you'll decide what grows, where your ghosts appear, and what kind of world they inhabit.
